Dear Heart,
Recently I visited a relative in a California hospital Intensive Care Unit. Just weeks ago, Joseph, was in a serious motorcycle accident… broken ribs, pelvis, lacerated liver and lung, brain damage uncertain… now in a coma.
Oh, my heart!
I was terrified to FEEL what I would have to feel when physically present with this level of tragedy and trauma.
In the hospital room with Jospeh, a rush of anxiety ran through my body until I summoned the courage to touch his warm hand, caress his face and speak to him.
The tight knot of sorrow, grief, compassion, and love, all mixed up in my body, began to soften. I was just there, present and witnessing Joseph without making meaning, past or future, about it.
Although aware of agony and struggle, I was simultaneously aware of a tremendous energetic intimacy surrounding Joseph, a great flowering intimacy of Love Blooming through all the cracked-open hearts who love this young man…. wife, baby boy, mother, grandmother and many others who
are all holding vigil together for Joseph.
Having faced and bodily felt through that resistance to feeling, I’m living energy expansion and
deepening realizations about the Truth of who Joseph is (Jospeh is not in a coma, his body is), who I am, who we are all, as expressions of the Eternal Infinite Radiant Divine.
Why am I sharing this experience with you?
As Transformational Leaders, we choose to live
what we support in others. Some of our greatest growth and contribution comes through our choices to face what we most want to avoid.
We serve
best through the vulnerability of living with an open heart and from a state of CERTAINTY that only comes through alignment with Truth, even in the face of painful circumstance.
I could have easily chosen not to make the trip to visit Joseph or stayed in the hospital waiting room and avoided seeing him. In the past I probably would have found good reasons not to face this heartbreaking situation.
I am SO glad I made the choice to face and feel!!!!!!
In last week's email I wrote about the "Golden Faucet", a metaphor for the human capacity to choose our focus of attention.
Today, I encourage you to notice where you may have been avoiding feeling and CHOOSE to go there. Discover your Deeper Truth, open up your "Golden Faucet".
Love Always,
Georgette Star MA, D.Min
P.S. I like to practice celebrating life's little synchronicities... golden crumbs on the path of Awakening.
Last Monday when I sent my email about the "Golden Faucet" I ended up with a hotel bathroom that had literal gold faucets!
