Dear Bright Shining Light,
If you live in the Northern Hemisphere as I do, yesterday was the Vernal (Spring)
Equinox. So, “Happy Spring, Darling”! And, if you live on the other side of the planet, “Happy Fall! Beautiful Soul”!
In my neighborhood in the Northwest USA, Mother Nature is waking up, unfurling her most vibrant green spring colors and scents. It’s a fresh new season!
I love tuning in to seasonal cycle changes. It helps me to remember my connection with the cycles of the earth and the cosmos and to embrace life as a constant river of change.
How about you? How do the changes of Spring inspire you?
Sunday was my birthday.
I used to wake up and call my Mom to thank her for giving birth to me. This year, after almost one year since her leap into the LIGHT, I sent my birthday “Thank you Mom” as a prayer to her spirit. I’m grateful to be alive.
I also gave myself a wondrous gift, an art workshop with Flora Bowley and Orly Avineri called the “Winds of Change”.
For five intense days, 20 women and I gathered together with these two wonderful teachers as we nurtured the artistic side of our spirits! I immersed myself in creative expression, mostly through painting.
At one point I noticed my thoughts had
become a flow of colors! Just imagine that!!!
Here are some painting instructions, given during the workshop, which could also be (deceptively simple) instructions for living your creatively free life:
- Movement is LIFE!
- Don’t focus on the whole thing… it will be too overwhelming… find one aspect that attracts your attention and focus there.
- Work with what’s working!
- Contrast is crucial.
- Control is
stagnation.
- Commit to bold moves and know that you can change again.
During the “Winds of Change” workshop, I worked on a painting for over two days and then cut it up into pieces to use for something else! It was a great practice to let go of something I created, without judging this as a failure, and then
open to new possibilities.
I wish this freedom for you too!
Let’s practice together.

P.S. Below you will find the David Whyte poem we spent some time with one morning during the workshop. Pay attention to the sentence or paragraph that resonates with you the most right now and then carry it with you as a “wisdom pearl” into your day or evening.
