I fell head over heels in LOVE with
the minister’s son at 16, married him at 17, had a baby at 18 and moved to Sugarloaf Mountain in the backwoods of Oregon at 19. Here my youthful hearts desire to experience a utopian new way of living came true, at least for a time.
My little family and I found a community of kindred spirits to share the adventure of life. We began to
build a cabin on our 80 acres of land, which you had to open and close 3 cattle gates to get to, and that we shared with several other families.
I was in HEAVEN!!!
It was SO exciting to be living “off the grid” with my husband and baby boy, to be
experimenting with communal life immersed in the beauty of the natural world.

PEACE WARRIORS:A PROGRAM For Boys In Portland,
Oregon
2015-16 PEACE WARRIORS Groups Forming Now! Peace Warriors is currently enrolling for the mentorship program beginning in November 2015. For families with boys age 10 and 11 who live in
Portland, Oregon Groups meet once a month and explore aspects of boyhood and family that will enliven their sacred masculine qualities and guide them on the transition from boyhood to young man. Groups composed of one mentor and 6-8 boys will meet once a month through June, 2016.

Being the oldest of 4 boys with a mother who ran an in-home daycare center, I received some life training early in working (and playing) with children. My work as a PEACE WARRIOR PROGRAM mentor grew out of a desire to provide an aspect of boyhood that was missing for me and for so many guys: an opportunity to come into awareness and power of their Divine
Masculine and the responsibilities of coming into manhood.
What does it mean to be a man? How can we break free from the media stereotypes and shine our bright light? These are some of the questions we explore together in PEACE WARRIORS, and for the last 8 years, I've been mentoring the next
generation of young men who are doing this work joyfully.
By combining introspective explorations with adventures on the farm, forest and local waterways, we're getting to know each other and ourselves. We are building a connection to the earth so strong that we will protect it for future generations. We create art,
track animals, light fires, and we even make our own pizza! About Georgette Star MA, D.Min
