Hello Bright Light,

Earlier this month I shared about my 65^th birthday retreat to Kona where I enjoyed a luxurious freedom to unplug from the routines of everyday life that keep me grounded and productive. 

It was fascinating, fun, and rejuvenating to let go of responsibilities, pull up roots, surrender to the currents of life and let them take me where they would. I became a floating sea turtle, drifting without a schedule with only the impulse of the moment directing my actions.

However, as lovely as this respite was, I can't imagine how people who live in that environment get anything done. Somehow, the littlest task seemed to feel more overwhelming than it should.

Upon returning home to the Pacific Northwest I needed several days to get back to a grounded, fully functional status. I know you know what I’m taking about!!! 

We all know what can happen when the electrical wiring in a house isn’t properly grounded. Apparently, our body/minds include an electrical system that need to be grounded too. If not, we too could catch on metaphorical fire and burn out. 

The power of INTENTIONAL GROUNDING is a competency that’s easy to philosophize about, but for many of us, not so easy to embody and maintain to when life is demanding.
